Raised in the heart of Dublin, Julia grew up immersed in Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition, cultural depth, and emotional honesty which deeply shaped her artistic voice. A passionate and disciplined performer, her early years were also shaped by a strong athletic foundation—competing in tennis, golf, hockey, swimming, and horse riding—which instilled in her a powerful work ethic, physical agility, and a natural ability to collaborate.
That same drive led her to found Le Chéile Productions (Le Chéile meaning together in Irish), a Production company dedicated to telling diverse, emotionally impactful stories about people from all walks of life coming together.
With a strong instinct for story, Julia brings a grounded emotional presence and a rich complexity to every project—drawing from her classical training, multicultural education, and an enduring curiosity that transcends borders.
Fuelled by a deep love for the Irish language, history, and the resilience of its people, Julia is passionate about creating work that bridges borders. Her mission is to tell stories—both at home and abroad—that celebrate Ireland’s unique voice while embracing the shared complexities of the human experience across cultures.
Training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York was a transformative chapter in Julia’s journey as an actor. Over the course of the One Year Conservatory, Julia immersed herself in the discipline of Method Acting, a practice pioneered by Lee Strasberg, who believed in finding truth by drawing from the depths of personal experience.
What struck her most was Strasberg’s insistence on honesty — that every performance should come from a place of lived reality. Guided by his legacy and the remarkable faculty at the Institute, Julia learned to unlock imagination, vulnerability, discipline and emotional depth in her work. From movement and voice to scene study, Improvisation and on-camera training, the program gave her a holistic approach to stage and screen performance.

Immersing herself in the heart of French academic and cultural life was transformative—attending lectures on French literature, culture, history, and film in their original context deepened her understanding and appreciation of Francophonie. The experience refined her language skills and enriched her passion for French cultural studies.

During her Undergraduate studies at Trinity College, Julia studied at the Gaiety School of Acting, enrolling for two semesters in the Acting for Camera course. She began to lay the foundations of her craft, developing her physical, vocal and emotional techniques. The course focused on exploring subtext through behaviour and shaping scenes effectively through rehearsal. It delved deep into camera work, characters’ wants and needs, rehearsal techniques, private preparation, and Audition skills. This is the foundation that Julia built on at the Strasberg Institute.
